The standout feature of OS 26 Launcher is its Dynamic Island implementation. While most Android launchers ignore the camera cutout, we turned it into a functional, animated activity display — similar to what you see on newer iPhones, but running natively on any Android device.
Dynamic Island supports over 15 activity types including incoming calls, music playback, timers, alarms, navigation, screen recording, Bluetooth connections, weather updates, and focus mode. It morphs smoothly between compact pill view and expanded detail view with custom animations.

Universal Search: Find Anything on Your Device
Pull down from anywhere on the home screen to open Universal Search. It searches across 13 different content types simultaneously, all processed locally on your device:
Results are ranked by relevance and usage frequency. You can choose your default search engine (Google, DuckDuckGo, Bing, or Yahoo) and toggle individual search sections on or off.
Six Built-in Widgets
OS 26 Launcher ships with six native widgets, each designed to match the launcher's visual style. They also work as standard Android widgets, and you can host any third-party widget alongside them.

Privacy and Security
Your data stays on your device by default. OS 26 Launcher stores all preferences, layouts, notes, and search history locally using Android DataStore and Room databases. There is no server-side storage and no user account system.

- Encrypted Cloud Sync — if you opt in, backups are encrypted before uploading to your personal Google Drive
- Minimal Permissions — every permission is optional and requested only when you use the feature that needs it

Cloud Backup and Restore
Switching phones or want peace of mind? Enable cloud sync to back up your entire launcher configuration to your personal Google Drive. Backups include your home screen layout, widget configurations, app customizations, lock screen profiles, notes, and all settings.
Restore on any device with one tap. All data is encrypted before upload, and we never maintain copies on our servers — your backup lives in your own Drive account under a dedicated "OS 26 Launcher" folder.
Wallpapers: Thousands for Free
Browse and search thousands of high-quality wallpapers powered by Pixabay, all free. Save your favorites, set wallpapers directly from the browser, or enable auto-wallpaper to refresh your look on a daily, weekly, or monthly schedule. The launcher also supports parallax wallpaper effects for a subtle depth feel as you swipe between home screen pages.
Built-in Notes
Quick notes are built right into the launcher. Create, edit, and organize notes with five color options. Notes are stored locally in a Room database, show up in Universal Search results, and can be pinned as a home screen widget for instant access.

OS 26 Launcher is built entirely with Jetpack Compose and follows modern Android architecture patterns (MVVM, Hilt, Room, DataStore). Under the hood, it uses an icon caching system that warms the cache on launch so app icons load instantly. Animation speeds are adjustable, and a battery saver profile reduces visual effects on low-power devices.
